Starbucks and Jim Beam Brands Co. are joining forces to take control of my liquor cabinet. Well, the article doesn’t say exactly that, but it sure sounds like that’s their plan:
The two companies didn’t disclose yesterday many other details about the new liqueur — including its name — but it will feature the Starbucks brand on the bottle. The liqueur, which will compete with products such as Kahlua and Baileys Irish Cream, will not be sold in Starbucks coffeehouses.
Drinkers can take it neat or mixed with other beverages, said Tom Flocco, president and chief executive of Jim Beam. The two companies are developing drink recipes for the liqueur that include other spirits and sodas.
