I look forward to the arrival of warmer weather. This is not so much for the warm part (although that will be a bit nice … I got my gas bill today and it was not a pretty sight), but rather for the fresh local fruits and vegetables that warm weather brings.
Above is a watermelon from my farm share box last August.
I’m especially excited that the farm co-op to which I subscribe will be delivering boxes in Butler starting this year. No more hurried drives to Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoons! Delicious and close, so wonderful.
If you’re in Butler, do check out their website and consider joining. The more, the merrier! Northwest Pennsylvania Growers Co-Op, fresh and local 52 weeks a year.
