Critical caffeine update: Peet’s on sale at Giant Eagle

If my recent raptures about Peet’s Coffee have tempted you to try the stuff, but you’ve been wary of the high cost, please take note. Until tomorrow (July 25), Giant Eagle is offering $3 off Peet’s. Note that you must have a Giant Eagle Advantage card to get the discount.

And! They have Major Dickason’s Blend in whole beans now, as well as the House Blend. Woo!

  1. Went grocery shopping today and I needed coffee and I picked up a pound o’ Peet’s. I had a brick of Seattle’s Best in my hand but I switched it out. We’ll see how good it is!

  2. I’m not really sure. I think there’s one by the deli. Plenty of good stuff there, though. Too bad it takes 20 minutes before you get to check out. That’s one of the reasons why I like Trader Joe’s. I think GE is wising up and starting to build smaller stores.

  3. At least one of the Butler Giant Eagles has a station with a few kinds of olives, pickled veggies, etc. I adore the oil cured olives.

The GE produce isn’t anything to brag about, but they’re doing better at stocking foods from foreign lands — although it cracks me up that there’s practically a whole aisle labeled “Italian” but only three feet devoted to “European,” with British clotted cream nestling up against Polish kluski noodles.

  4. I have just taken my first sip of the Columbian (preground), which I picked up last night. Good stuff. And our store (S. Fields) still had it on sale for the same price as that Star-something brand ($7.49). They are also carrying the House Blend in whole bean, but that was the only kind. Thanks for the tip!

  5. Susan: I’m glad you’re enjoying it! So far you’re the third person who said they bought Peet’s at least partly because of my recommendation. I need to get in touch with them about a commission….
