I’d wanted to make a trip out west this year to ski with my dear friend Scott. I never managed to find the time, and even spring skiing is pretty much done for the season.
I felt a little bad about this until I rediscovered this photo of me going over a jump while skiing with Scott and some others a few years back.
In real life, I’m not even this graceful.
Oh, that couldn’t have ended well.

It looks like you fell (or were pushed ?) out of the ski-lift.
I wasn’t badly hurt — had the wind knocked out of me and probably had to trudge downhill (and uphill) to retrieve pieces of gear.
The irony is that if I’d been leaning more forward going into the jump, if I’d not shown some hesitation, I’d had soared over it just fine.
Also, the jump was at most a foot high, merely a little dip caused by an evergreen overhang. So there wasn’t far to fall.
Honestly, the photo makes me laugh every time I look at it.
