As I understand it, cats always win. Even if they’ve lost, they somehow refuse to accept defeat and convince themselves they won.
Which actually isn’t a bad way to look at life, now that I think about it…
This is exactly true. Sometimes they pretend to know they’ve lost, but they return later with a sneak attack. Other times — such as with Max here — they seem unable to perceive that there is any disagreement. Max views every “no” as a request for more information. He would make an excellent salesman.
